Art/Math Enrichment Group Creates Art Race Cars!

The art/math enrichment group has been meeting on Monday mornings to work on a race car project. Not just any race cars, but ART race cars! For the past several weeks, they have learned about artists, like Jeff Koons, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and many others who have been commissioned to paint cars for the BMW corporation. Recently, they were visited by Home Depot representatives who built the actual wooden models with them. They have also been working on their own unique designs on BMW templates, which they will revise and edit to become the final design on their vehicles. When it is all said and done, they will be building tracks and rams and then – Let the games begin! Watch for updates by checking back on the blog and visiting our display in the main building’s first floor gallery! Response and support of this program has been amazing, and we thank all who have come forward to help with supplies!  If you would like to help with this endeavor with a donation to our supplies, visit www.dickblick.com/ara/lists/search and enter The Art of Race Cars in the search box of ART ROOM AID.  Our wishlist is open and active until January 31, 2012.
